Fall 2011 - New Alcohol & Other Drugs Module Added to HMS 2012

The Healthy Minds Study was designed to provide data on the most effective means to invest in the mental health of college and university students.Starting with the 2012 data collection, the Healthy Minds Study is growing with the new Alcohol & Other Drugs module, which will cover the prevalence of alcohol and other drugs, adverse consequences of alcohol and other drugs, utilization of and satisfaction with services to address student alcohol use (e.g., counseling and intervention), the association between alcohol use and academic performance, and interactions of alcohol use and prescription medication use for therapeutic reasons.

Participating institutions will now have three options when participating in the Healthy Minds Study:

    1. Healthy Minds Study: Mental Health Module
    2. Healthy Minds Study: Alcohol & Other Drugs Module
    3. Healthy Minds Study: Combined (includes both modules)
