9. Our students already receive so many surveys – won't this burden them further?
We have frequently received feedback from students that they found the survey interesting and enjoyable, because it pertains to a topic that they care about. The survey takes 15-20 minutes for most respondents, and they can log-off partway through and then return to it later if needed. Also, we hope you will agree with us that, of the many topics you could survey your students about, mental health is a top priority.
10.Can you re-survey students to look at changes over time in mental health and related factors?
Yes, we plan on implementing this study annually so that we can track changes over time. In fact, participating in multiple HMS studies will provide unique insights into your students, such as how transitory or lasting their mental health problems are.
While you can track changes in the measures studied over time at your schools, at the moment, the HMS is not set up as a longitudinal study to track the same students over time. However, if you are interested in doing this, please contact SSG to discuss your options. We expect to have a longitudinal option available at some point in the future.
11. What additional services are available for the HMS?
Additional services may be purchased to increase response rate, collect additional data, and expand the scope of the study at your school. All additional services are optional. HMS currently offers the following services:
- Custom Questions
Create up to 10 school-specific questions for $250. Custom questions are administered to your entire sample.
- Additional Sample
Expand your sample beyond 4,000 students for $100 per 100 respondents (there is no limit to the total number of students you may include).
- Additional Reporting Services
Choose from a variety of custom reporting services.
12. What if I want to interview more than 4,000 students?
If you would like to interview more than 4,000 students, you may expand your sample. Additional sample may be purchased for $100 per 100 respondents. Since there is no upper limit on sample size, you may survey your entire institution.
